Avoid These Mistakes

Kettlebell Exercises - Common Mistakes Beginners Make

Injuries can happen at any time if you are not doing the exercises correctly and it doesn't matter if you are new to kettlebells or an old hand. Kettlebell exercises are not that complicated but this does not mean that you can do the moves any way you please. Check out some of the most common mistakes that beginners make below so you can avoid getting injured.

1.) You are using your knees and not the hips
This is a classic mistake that almost every beginner makes. We normally use our front muscles more and the knees dictate many lower body movements. Yoga and kettlebell flow; tree pose to warrior 3 to Cossack squats

Yoga and Kettlebells? Why Not!!!!!

Moving through some basic yoga poses and mobility drills with a light kettlebell.

This could get to be a very interesting workout. You would use an ultra light kettlebell at first, of course!

Hummm... Lets experiment with this one!! Let me know what you come up with!

UPDATE:

KettleYoga is a unique, fun way to train! The KettleYoga workout combines the best of two great practices: the balance and stretching aspects of yoga and the strength and endurance benefits of kettlebell workouts. Featured in Shape magazine, a KettleYoga workout is a combination of yoga with the use of kettlebells and is a great way of training the body without bulking up. Instead of doing separate workouts for cardiovascular conditioning, resistance training, and flexibility, KettleYoga combines the three into one workout. The exercises and poses work on stretching and resistance training, while the transition exercises work on cardiovascular conditioning.
